If I hear one more person telling me I should be “lifting heavy weights”, I’ll scream. By mid-life, lots of us have aches, pains and injuries that simply won’t let us do that.
Thank you so much for this - It sounds like we have a similar path and thoughts. The absolute Wild West of menopause money grabbers looking to make money off of our struggle is outrageous. I am wise to the nonsense but only because I have been steeped in this for 16 years now. I think of the women who are just now becoming aware of how this affects us and are "ripe for the picking." Who are going to fall for all of the noise out there, finding it harder and harder to make sense of what is happening within their own bodies. Who are going to feel "less than" because they cannot fit all the "shoulds" into their life. It makes my heart hurt. Keep sharing your perspective - your authenticity is needed.
So, that was a lovely rant pulled straight from my per-meno addled brain. I also happen to have PCOS and I am super not enjoying all the things going on with my body as it makes this transition. I do yoga, I exercise, I am careful with my food (for many medical reasons) and yet I am told I am still not doing enough. This article makes me feel better.
You made me feel tired just reading that. Yes, as in life & as in menopause, women have to be constantly striving. What a flaming burden for us all.

🙋♀️yep. Currently with POTS and tennis elbow.
Lifting is very tricky.
I did some floor pilates and I walk almost every day. Thats all o got right now.
So they gotta shout that at someone else.
😆
Good for you! You're doing something every day... this is consistency right here.
Please give me a list of food, I must not avoid :)

Oof, the “shoulds” are the bane of our existance.
Off with the “shoulds”!
